Dystonia and Parkinson’s

Question:

Hi Robert:

I was just wondering if you know anything about the “healing crisis”  and Parkinson symptoms  and also about the diagnosis of  dystonia?

Keep up the great web site.

Victoria

Response:

About the “Healing Crisis”

I see with great interest that you place the words “healing crisis” in quotes. We may have different interpretations of the meaning for a healing crisis. Here is mine.

When issues come to a head, symptoms flare up and become especially challenging. It is the body’s way of sending us a strong signal that something needs attention. The message is:

If you keep on the way you are going, things are going to get worse. Please pay attention.

What causes the crisis? At the top of the list floats two causes I have witnessed often and that I have seen in myself.

1. Negative thoughts recycle continuously through mind tripping. We are not able to turn the channel off without help.

2. The suppression of feelings which we would prefer to numb and/or ignore.

What symptoms can be expected with a healing crisis? Anything goes here. Think like your body thinks.

How am I going to get her attention here? Do I need to make the existing symptoms dramatically worse so she will notice me? Or, should I manifest new symptoms, pains and discomforts so she will be more likely to notice me?

The body makes a choice and wham. You feel worse. What happens feels quite horrible of course.  You are spun into a desperate state. In the end a healing crisis is a very good thing. We are afforded the opportunity to make some changes in our lives and urged to take action now because we feel so lousy. A healing crisis makes it possible to move on to the next level. After a long absence, we finally return home to our own soul.

Second question: Diagnosis of dystonia

I do not diagnose. I am not a medical doctor. I am not qualified to diagnose anything. I am not saying this for legal reasons. It is true. I do not have a clue how a medical doctor might “diagnose” dystonia which happens when the body has too much medicine.

I do not think in terms of diagnosis. The focus that makes a difference to healing is to be attentive to the messages that our bodies send to us.

I do have a strong sense of what the virgin symptoms of Parkinson’s look like, feel like, taste like and smell like for people who are not on any medications. Movements that are associated from being over medicated are markedly different from the virgin symptoms of Parkinson’s.

When a person takes medication, the levels of medication are fluctuating minute by minute. There will be times of the day when a person is over medicated and times when they are under medicated. If you ask you body at any given moment of the day whether it is over or under medicated it will give you the answer. Think of it as a daily unfolding drama which never ends.

The word dystonia itself is a noun – which makes the problem seem static. The term also invites in negative thought forms. The term itself calls in the false belief template that you can not recover. The false belief that Parkinson’s is “degenerative” is given acknowledgment and weight. This thought process constructs a road block that obstructs the healing process.

Focus on the challenge of balancing the over 40 hormones in the body and your body will love you for it.

Excessive Sweating

Published by admin under excessive sweating, salivation

Question:

I have been doing sort of OK with my Parkinson’s except that
severe sweating is driving me crazy. I sweat five or six times
a day – then sweat all night and wake up every morning soaking
from head to toe. I’ve done some research but cannot find
anything but talk about surgery.

Do you know of any nutritional or herbal treatment. Even if it is
not a cure but offers some relief?

I would appreciate some suggestions.

Thank you Robert

ML

Response:

Thanks so much for sending in your question.
Here is my spin on sweating from working with
individuals with the symptoms of Parkinsons
who have this problem. Rest assured you are not
alone in being driven crazy by this symptom.

Here is what I see is happening with sweating.
Your body is sending you a strong signal. What is
the message? I sense the message is that your lymph
system is clogged and not functioning at present.

Why is it clogged? You have an overabundance of toxins.
(Please do not be offended. First, my guess may be
wrong. Second, everyone has this problem who lives
in a toxic world today and that is everyone!).

When the body is attempting to do its work of eliminating toxins
(which is one of its jobs) and there are too many toxins
for the body to eliminate in a normal fashion (through kidneys, liver, etc)
the body will use whatever means available to release
the toxins. If the lymph system is clogged, the sweat glands are
a good alternative outlet. Looked at from this perspective,
sweating may be critical for the organs in your body to
continue functioning. In other words, it is actually a good thing
to sweat though it is making you miserable.

What do you do about this? First, you can evaluate everything
you put on your body, everything you eat and everything you
touch. It is possible you are contaminating yourself in a most
innocent way (like the shaving lotion you use or the laundry
soap you use or …). It may be the furniture you sit on has toxins.
Consider all possibilities and eliminate any and all sources
of toxins. Make it a project for the month. The source of the problem
may lie in a most strange place, one that you never thought about
before.

Second, you can purchase a small trampoline and jump on it
for 4 or 5 minutes a day (unless balance is an issue for you).
Jumping on a trampoline every day helps to clear out the toxins
and clear your lymph system.

Third, you can contact a naturopath or MD type doctor who knows
how to help you detox gently (or go to your health food store and
discuss detox options with them). There are many other natural
options that can help you detox (infrared saunas, sweat lodges,
steam rooms, homeopathic treatments, etc.)

I frequently do teleseminars with naturopaths who have great ideas
for detoxing. I recently interviewed Dr. Ivy Faber, ND, who does a test
that will tell you what toxins are problematic for you (or if my guess
is wrong about toxins, what might be the true source of your sweating
problem).

You also probably need to be especially careful to hydrate your body.
You may have the thought that you do not want to drink water because
it will make the sweating worse. Without adequate hydration, you
cannot detox your body and your lymph system will remain clogged.
There is a homeopathic treatment that is specifically designed to help
you hydrate your body.

Now – as you search around for herbal treatments, I recommend that
you consider the herbs that will help clear out your lymph system and
help you detox your body. I interviewed an amazing herbalist in
Pioneers of Recovery (http://pioneersofrecovery.com) Andrew Bentley.
He is the kind of person I would approach to get the best advice on
herbs to try.

Consider essential oils as an option too and be sure to watch the video
showing the application of essential oils that I posted right here
on this blog (www.blog.parkinsonsrecovery.com) just last week.

The bottom line is I would direct your focus in consultations with
your doctors to detoxing your body of harmful substances. Once
the toxins are cleared to a manageable state, your lymph system
will begin to function normally and the symptom of sweating should
subside.

Keep me appraised of what choices you make and what helps
(or does not help). I will be happy to post your experience on
the blog.

All the best,

Childhood Trauma and Parkinson’s

Published by admin under Trauma and Parkinsons

The following is a letter I received yesterday. The recording of the teleseminar can be downloaded from this website by looking for the March 10th entry.
Your last Thursday teleseminar was profound..it made so much sense. I was born in 1950 and besides bottle feeding being in vogue, so was ripping newborns away from  mom and into the nursery — with a bunch of other abandoned  newborns, just soaking up all the collective energy of abandonment and misery!

hanks much!

A few years  ago I dealt with my being taken away from mom with EFT — boy was there alot  of energy on that!   I just thought of the added trauma of the nursery scene. T

Supplements for Parkinson’s Disease and MAXGXL

Published by admin under Glutathione, Supplements

DEAR ROBERT,

I HAVE ENJOYED AND PROFITED A LOT FROM YOUR NEWSLETTERS, AND
MANY HAVE HELPED MY WIFE, WHO HAS ADVANCED PD FOR OVER 6 YRS,
BUT IS STILL DOING REAL GOOD.

I AM WRITING ABOUT SUPPLEMENTS, AND HOW THEY CAN BE BENEFICIAL
FOR PD PATIENTS. I KNOW YOU HAVE WRITTEN A NEWSLETTER ON THIS,
WHICH I FULLY AGREE ON.

BEFORE, I USED TO GIVE MY WIFE PLENTY OF  VARIOUS VITAMINS,
MINERALS AND OTHER SUPPS FOR YEARS WHICH DIDN’T SEEM TO DO
HER MUCH GOOD, BECAUSE OF HER ABSORPTION PROBLEMS AND
CONSTIPATION. NOW, I HAVE CHANGED MY APPROACH,  GIVING HER
GOOD PROBIOTICS, CONTINUING  GOOD FOODS AND SENSIBLE DIET,
BUT REDUCING THE QTY OF SUPPS…AND SHE IS DOING MUCH BETTER,
ESPECIALLY WITH THE CONSTIPATION PROBLEM SOLVED!!

THERE ARE MANY MLM’S  AROUND PROMOTING THEIR “INNOVATIVE”
PRODUCTS, SUCH AS MAXGXL…WHICH IS SUPPOSED TO BOOST THE
GLUTATHIONE LEVELS…IS A POWERFUL AO…ETC. MY WIFE TRIED IT
FOR 4 MONTHS LAST YEAR…DID HER NO GOOD!!  IT DID AT THE
BEGINNING, BUT BENEFITS FADED AWAY. WE STOPPED IT.

WHAT IS YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS PRODUCT THAT SEEMS TO BE
INFESTING THE MARKET?

I FIND THAT THE BEST TONIC FOR PWP IS:

    * SOME EXERCISE
    * GOOD NUTRITION
    * SOME KEY SUPPS..NOT TOO MANY
    * LOW STRESS(CRITICAL!)
    * LOTS OF TLC (TENDER LOVING CARE!)

THIS WORKS!!
BLESSINGS

Question:

WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON MAXGXL THAT SEEMS TO BE
INFESTING THE MARKET?

Response:

I have located a couple who promote the product. The husband (who
has had Parkinson’s for many years) reports relief from his symptoms,
though he is clearly not symptom free today.

They will tell their story during a teleseminar I am having this
Friday, March 20th at 11:00 am pacific time.

Write any question you might have about MAXGXL and I will
ask them during the teleseminar Friday. It would be great if
other people would write in about their own experience with
using this product.

I am not clear myself about what this product is designed to
do, so I will know more after the teleseminar. I do know that there
is no product on the market that helps everyone recover. Sounds like
your experience has not been positive which is typical of the stories
I hear about every supplement or therapy. Most supplements and
therapies help some people (and sometimes many people), but never
all people. This is what my research shows time and time again.

If any product or supplement helps a mere 1% of the people who
have the symptoms of Parkinsons, it is worth investigating.

I love your tonic for Parkinson’s. Now in my opinion, your tonic will work
for everyone!

Frankincense, Magnesium Powder and Meditation

Published by admin under Frankincense, Magnesium Powder

The following is a letter I received this week:

Dear Robert,

Thank you for your wonderful encouraging letters. I got the book Pioneers of Recovery. It is very positive, has helpful information and surely is worth of purchasing. I started to use passionflower drops in a glass of water (10 drops three times / day) – it does help with tremors.

I also made massage oil for same using frankincense drops; one drop / 1cc of carrier oil ( I use almond oil) – I use it on my neck and arm – it helps. I also use Magnesium powder.

I learned all that from your book. I just studied it a bit more . I am on my way to recover, next step is to detox and get Aquas

In addition, of course, I use your meditation CDs every day – They are very helpful, issues that I had forgotten come out.

Again, Thank you!!

TV, Vancouver, BC, Canada

Isn’t this a lovely letter? I am practicing receiving, which I believe helps all of us balance our hormones.  At first, I wasn’t going to make this public, but then I thought I really need to take this praise in.  My hormones are already thanking me.

You will understand better why if you listen to my last teleseminar (see the march 10th entry by scrolling down the page).
