No doubt many factors potentially contribute to walking difficulties that can involve freezing, stumbling, shuffling or even falling. Regardless of the challenges, how can you improve walking gait?

Walking difficulties become more challenging with multi-tasking. When walking alone and totally focused on the task of walking, gait difficulties are minor. When walking and talking with a friend while holding a dog at the very same time, gait disturbances become problematic.
OK. So that is the problem. What needs to happen to improve your walking gait? Consider two options.
- Never multi-task when walking
- Practice the skill at multitasking.
As a side note – men as a general rule have significantly more difficulty with multi-tasking than women so the first option may be preferred for men over the second.
The second option involves practicing the skill at multi-tasking doing fun and engaging exercises that coordinate the intricate interactions between the mind and body.
